Cryptography Research, Inc., a division of Rambus Inc., has announced that smartcard and security chip maker Mikron JSC (Zelenograd, Russia) has signed a license agreement regarding the use of CRI's patents in Mikron products.

Moscow - October 26, 2011 - JSC SITRONICS (LSE:SITR), a leading supplier of solutions in the field of telecommunications, information technologies and microelectronics in Russia and CIS conducted the session "Silicon microelectronics - a basement of innovations" during the international forum of nano-technologies RUSNANOTECH 2011. During the session the representatives of the largest Russian and global microelectronics companies and the representatives of the state discussed the development of the semi-conductor industry in Russia, identified the main reasons hindering its growth and offered the ways to overcome them.

Russia and CIS provider of technology services Sitronics' subsidiaries Niime and Mikron's board of directors adopted a decision to establish a research institute, Niime (the Russian abbreviation for the Institute for Scientific Research in Molecular Electronics).

The microelectronics development strategy proposed by Rusnano and Sistema includes elements of protectionism to support local manufacturers as well as economic stimuli for the production of microelectronic components and finished high-tech products.

Rusnano, the Russian government's investment fund for nanotechnologies—in conjunction with Sitronics, a high-tech company in Eastern Europe operating in the field of telecommunications solutions, information technologies, system integration, consulting, and the development and manufacture of microelectronics products, and the X5 Retail Group, one of Russia's largest retail companies—has announced plans to launch the Store of the Future, a research and development (R&D) project aimed at creating nano-enabled solutions for introducing and exploiting RFID technology in Russia's retail industry

JSC Mikron reports that on May 29, 2008 it received a certificate of environmental management system (EMS) by ISO  standard 14001:2004. JSC Mikron has become the first Russian manufacturer of microelectronics to hold such a level of international expertise. The certificate was issued by international certification body Bureau Veritas Certification.

At the general meeting of the Russian Academy of Science, that took place May 28th till June 2nd in 2008, Director General of JSC Mikron Gennady Krasnikov was elected Full Member (Academician) of the Russian Academy of Science within the department of nanotechnologies and IT.
